Michael Jack to succeed Barry Bester as Chairman
The Board of Topps Tiles Plc (the "Group" or the "Company"), the UK's largest tile specialist, announces that Barry Bester has retired as Non-Executive Chairman of the Board, and as a Director of the Group with immediate effect.
Barry is succeeded as Non-Executive Chairman by the Rt Hon Michael Jack, the company's senior Non-Executive Director who joined the Board in 1999. For 23 years, until May 2010, Michael served as a Member of Parliament. Prior to this he held management positions in Procter & Gamble, Marks and Spencer Group Plc and a subsidiary of Northern Foods. Currently he is an advisor to HSBC Bank and remains a Privy Councillor and Chair of the recently formed Office of Tax Simplification in the Treasury.
In addition the Board has made significant progress towards the appointment of further Non-Executive Directors and expects to be able to announce at least one new Directorship in the near future.
Michael Jack, commenting on his appointment said:

Barry Bester, commenting on his retirement said, "I have chosen to resign as Chairman of Topps Tiles after a wonderful 26 years with the business, as I have been spending an increasing amount of my time on my other private business interests. I offer my best wishes to my successor Michael Jack, with whom I have worked for many years."
